Boat on the Shoreline captures the meeting of two worlds, the quiet simplicity of life by the water and the colour, movement and energy of the city beyond.

In the foreground, a solitary wooden boat rests peacefully at the water’s edge. Behind it rises a wonderfully imagined cityscape filled with colourful buildings, unusual shapes and architectural details. The contrast creates a sense of stillness against movement, with the boat appearing almost untouched by the busy world surrounding it.

Soft blues and greens flow through the water and landscape, while deep reds, yellows and vibrant bursts of colour bring warmth and character to the city. The sweeping shoreline connects the two, creating a scene that feels both familiar and dreamlike.

There is a sense of journey throughout the painting. The boat suggests travel, freedom and possibility, while the city represents the places, people and experiences that wait beyond the shoreline. Yet in this moment, everything is still.

To me, Boat on the Shoreline is about finding moments of peace amongst the busyness of life. It is a reminder that sometimes the most beautiful thing we can do is simply stop for a while, take in our surroundings and appreciate exactly where we are.

• Dimensions: 80 × 140 cm
• Printed on high-quality 100% cotton canvas using archival pigment inks, then finished with four protective coats of art varnish. Each canvas is professionally stretched over kiln-dried plantation pine stretcher bars and supplied ready to hang, complete with hanging fittings, brown framer’s tape and felt bumpons on the back.
• The original artwork was created using acrylic and ink on canvas. The exceptional print quality preserves the depth, texture and detail of the original, making it beautifully difficult to distinguish between the print and the original artwork.
