This painting was created during unforgettable year of 2020, when the world felt uncertain, restricted and disconnected.

The crowded faces, tangled lines, birds and cages reflect the confusion and emotion of that time. The cages represent being trapped, while the birds suggest freedom and the hope of being released.

There is chaos in the painting, but also moments of calm and reflection. It shows how people were separated, yet still connected by the same fears, questions and experiences.

To me, 2020 is about isolation, change and the search for freedom during a time none of us had experienced before.

• Dimensions: 60cm x 120cm
• Printed on high-quality 100% cotton canvas using archival pigment inks, then finished with four protective coats of art varnish. Each canvas is professionally stretched over kiln-dried plantation pine stretcher bars and supplied ready to hang, complete with hanging fittings, brown framer’s tape and felt bumpons on the back.
• The original artwork was created using acrylic and ink on canvas. The exceptional print quality preserves the depth, texture and detail of the original, making it beautifully difficult to distinguish between the print and the original artwork.
